A Couple Changes

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to send a quick note that there will be a couple minor tweaks to Sidewalks and Stairwells in the coming days. I’m going to be playing around with the formatting, adding a few links to recent works I’ve written, that sort of thing.

What I’m most excited about though is the addition of a long-form section with the original title, “Long-Form”. This is a placeholder name, but then again, it may be permanent, I’m not sure. Either way, I want to differentiate between my blog posts and some of my longer works. I have a couple pieces that have sat collecting dust on a website that never got off the ground, so I figured I’d post them here instead.

My first long-form post I’m going to share is called “On Eagle’s Wings”, about my friendship with my late friend and coworker Carly Hughes. It is a very personal piece, one that was not easy to write, but is something I’m proud of. I’ll post that Monday.

In the meantime, I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Chris

I look forward to the tweeking, Chris, and your next writing. I have just had my whole site “malwared” so am slowly rebuilding it. I will also be letting people know that there are changes coming and it won’t be staying as unprofessional and unfinished forever!!
    Look forward to Monday 🙂

I was with Blue Host as the hosting party using the WordPress platform and have a few plug ins but somehow some malware virus’s got in and BlueHost closed the site until the issues were resolved. I have virus protection on the website but I have since learnt that is different to virus protection on the coding etc on the website itself. Anyway their partner company was going to sort it all out for “only” $50USD per month!
The causes are unknown but my new hosting company say its such a long shot to get “attacked” that he doesn’t recommend the need for the protection and in his 13 years of web developing he has never seen it happen.
So I have found a friends husband who knows waaay more than I do and has cleaned the viruses out and transferred the hosting to a small company here in Melbourne. Rebuilding the information on the website is a slowish task while life still goes on around and while i am going through a writers slump which I know you will understand.
Not a huge problem in the scheme of things – just annoying 🙂
